What is OneStart?
OneStart is the world’s largest life sciences and healthcare startup accelerator program – welcoming ideas focused on the improvement of human health including; therapeutics, diagnostics, software, devices, research tools, and more.
OneStart focus is it to cultivate early-stage entrepreneurship among young and disruptive health-care innovators and to that end they limit the participation of applicants to 35 years old or younger.
They welcome ideas and businesses at all stages of development, from the very early to more mature. The program provides extensive mentoring and support up to 80 teams each year (not just the winner). As a result, each year multiple entrants secure follow-on funding.
A judging panel of industry experts will award the Grand Prize to the team that has the most potential to commercialize their idea and improve the lives of patients.
The Grand Prize
The Grand Prize for OneStart Americas is US$150k, and £100k for OneStart Europe – which welcomes applications from the rest of the world (such as Asia-Pacific, Africa, Middle East, etc). Both prizes are non-dilutive and come with free lab space and extensive follow-on mentoring.
Beyond the Prize
Each year many teams (not just the winners) raise follow-on funds, often during the course of the program – all thanks to the extensive mentoring, education and industry presence.

Cosa è OneStart?
OneStart è il più grande programma acceleratore a livello mondiale per startup del settore delle scienze della vita e della sanità – nato per accogliere nuove idee focalizzate sul miglioramento della salute, comprese le aree terapeutica, diagnostica, software, dispositivi medici, strumenti di ricerca e altro ancora.
L’obiettivo di OneStart è coltivare e dare impulso alle attività di imprenditorialità allo stato embrionale tra i giovani e dirompenti innovatori nel settore della sanità. A tal fine la partecipazione dei candidati è stata limitata fino al massimo di 35 anni di età.
OneStart accoglie le idee e le imprese in tutte le loro fasi di sviluppo, dallo stato embrionale fino alle fasi più mature. Il programma prevede un ampio tutoraggio e supporto fino ad un massimo di 80 team ogni anno (quindi non solo per il vincitore). Di conseguenza, ogni anno è garantito il finanziamento del ‘follow-on’ a più partecipanti.
Una giuria di esperti del settore assegna il Gran Premio per la squadra che ha il maggior potenziale per commercializzare la loro idea e migliorare la vita dei pazienti.
Il Gran Premio
Il Gran Premio per OneStart Americhe è di 150.000 US$, e di 100.000 £ per OneStart Europa. Quest’ultimo include i partecipanti dal resto del mondo (come Asia e Pacifico, Africa, Medio Oriente, ecc). Entrambi i premi non sono frazionabili e includono l’uso di spazio laboratorio gratuito e ampio supporto di mentoring per proseguire.
Al di là del premio
Ogni anno molti team (non solo i vincitori) ottengono fondi per proseguire, spesso durante il corso del programma grazie alla presenza capillare del supporto di mentoring, di istruzione e delle industrie di settore.
